Week recap: academic/business venture week

Almost as late as the previous post (and to think I owe a prom post!), but here goes. When we thought nothing would get worse than the previous week, academic week was demanding, both academically and extra-curricular wise.

1. eco business venture - For the longest time, I was dreading this project, coz I was really realy scared that we wouldn't be able to make profit, much less break even. Not to mention a change in suppliers three days before opening day. But, it actually worked out. Thanks to the kick ass advertising of my groupmates (even without visuals), and efficiency. Despite the fact my entrepreneurial skills are ZERO (i got a 17 on the NCAE), I enjoyed the venture. Tried to buy from every stand, one food per stall per day. Now, it's gonna feel weird without seeing the tables in the patio. WIth this whole week, one thing is certain - with batch 2008, it's always a party (even when selling!). Funniest thing ever was the last minute haggling of very tiny items at 1:05 friday.

2. WIT - Part two of the intraschool tourament I played tournament director to during my junior year. This year, medyo umasenso na, chief adjudicator na! But admittedly, it was a lot less work in my part (thanks and props to Pat and the rest of the juniors)... given that the incomings wouldn't be my ducklings no more. Congratulations to team IIA, although fermin refused to acknowlege that during the awarding, for winning the tourney. WIT is still classic fun, skipping class and escaping to the tab room.

3. Chorale Workshop - I actually conducted, sort of well, last friday! Despite the fact I wasn't the bestest teacher ever (having ditched the class at least twice), we still pulled it off. Actually in the senior division, our entire batch won! See, it just proves to show b'08 has talent, no matter what. And as for the song? It was stuck in everyone's heads for a while.

4. The terrors of that week: compo note cards and philo long test. I was forced to cut tuesday to even submit the notecards on time, and that was all for a measley 10 points. Those two, ugh. Don't even want to think about it.

5. The WR prom - refer to separate post. Did you really think I would put it in here?

We got some possible new recruits... and it was actually fun to miss a lot of class to adj debates... and miss even more class tabbing... 2. Campaign - hasn't started... but being campaign manager has its perks and downfalls (such as shortened lunch). MOVE doesn't have a final line up yet... but anyway... it's currently on low priority... 3. Sendoff - gawd don't talk to me about this. I haven't started yet. I will, when I actually have the time to do so. 4. Prom - just finished up getting the last minute things... I'm going to spend the week breathing now... just those reaaaally minor details na lang... JUST GET IT OVER WITH NA! I swear, the planning and talking n...

To restage or not to restage...

The poll is up. Should the Gabay production of Songs for a New World do a restaging? Hit the comment button, and state your name, answer, and justification. This way, certain people won't vote numerous times. I cannot believe I'm even opening to that situation.

WR Debaters are sorority sisters... :)

It's been a little bit under hell over the past two days, so it's been hard to find the time to blog about IISDC. The teachers decided to give no mercy and imposed all make up tests to be taken today. Naturally, we died studying last night. But... the point is... it was well worth it. It's super hard to actually describe IISDC 2006, so here's the rundown on the highlights. 1. Mega SQUISH!! 12 people in Eagle star!! - Just when we thought that 8 people in a condo was difficult last year, we tried 12 this year. It took a lot of mattresses and fixing up every single day, lots of squishing, waiting for Gaba to turn off the lights, and sleeping on the floor. Imagine, the condo is originally for two people, and we fit six times more than that. Achievement! Well, it just involved having no space after all the bags were unloaded and after the sleeping bags were rolled down. But, that just adds to the fun of it! 2. No sleep, really - okay, so we still slept a little, but we woul...
