ADC, and to explain the lack of pictures...

I haven't posted any new albums for months now, and the justification for that is... my trusty camera is broken beyond repair. I took it to a service center a week ago, and it's not fixable daw. Sigh. A new one will be coming, soon. That pretty much explains why I really wanted to take pictures of some events, but couldn't.

Ateneo Debate Camp, or ADC, was this weekend. For the lack of an album to document it, this blog entry will just have to do. This was my first debate camp, ever. (note: i never went over the past two years). And I havta say, it was pretty hard. The slots were limited to 32, and the best 32 were definitely there. Lectures, debates, etc... but here are the highlights. (which should have been taken by a camera)

1. Cupcakes! We went to Serendra after Day 1, courtesy of Audrey and her car. We were pretty much obsessed with the cupcakes.
--- "No! Take my phone, but not my cupcakes!" , Pola and Audrey (no, they didn't get hold up-ed, twas just for fun)
2. Dilemma: 12 people, one City car, 30 minutes to get to McDo from AHS and back for lunch. The answer was to take two trips, but in order to fit 6 people in the car, it involved someone being stuffed up in the trunk. (don't worry, there was air). During trip 1, it was Mikki (Albano). The funny thing was, it wasn't the stuffing him in the car that was weird, it was the getting out of the trunk when we arrived in the McDo carpark in Katipunan. He refused to do it going back though, since we all just ate.
3. Jess and his international relations lecture. Now that is the way to grab people's attention and make you listen up in class.
--- "So, can when can a state go to war?"
"When it's statehood is being threatened?"
"If I cut off your food, can you go to war?"
"No."
"Then it's WRONG. When can a state go to war?"
"When all other methods have been exhausted?"
"WRONG."
"When you are bombed?"
"Correct. Next question, is anticipatory response allowed? If state A launches a missle against state B, but the missle hasn't landed yet, can state B counter attack? Yes, the missle was already fired."
"Uh, no."
"WRONG. I'll ask that question again, is anticipatory response allowed?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Tell me why."

Heehee, should have brought a cam instead. But till then. :) I'm still rotting.

We got some possible new recruits... and it was actually fun to miss a lot of class to adj debates... and miss even more class tabbing... 2. Campaign - hasn't started... but being campaign manager has its perks and downfalls (such as shortened lunch). MOVE doesn't have a final line up yet... but anyway... it's currently on low priority... 3. Sendoff - gawd don't talk to me about this. I haven't started yet. I will, when I actually have the time to do so. 4. Prom - just finished up getting the last minute things... I'm going to spend the week breathing now... just those reaaaally minor details na lang... JUST GET IT OVER WITH NA! I swear, the planning and talking n...

To restage or not to restage...

The poll is up. Should the Gabay production of Songs for a New World do a restaging? Hit the comment button, and state your name, answer, and justification. This way, certain people won't vote numerous times. I cannot believe I'm even opening to that situation.

WR Debaters are sorority sisters... :)

It's been a little bit under hell over the past two days, so it's been hard to find the time to blog about IISDC. The teachers decided to give no mercy and imposed all make up tests to be taken today. Naturally, we died studying last night. But... the point is... it was well worth it. It's super hard to actually describe IISDC 2006, so here's the rundown on the highlights. 1. Mega SQUISH!! 12 people in Eagle star!! - Just when we thought that 8 people in a condo was difficult last year, we tried 12 this year. It took a lot of mattresses and fixing up every single day, lots of squishing, waiting for Gaba to turn off the lights, and sleeping on the floor. Imagine, the condo is originally for two people, and we fit six times more than that. Achievement! Well, it just involved having no space after all the bags were unloaded and after the sleeping bags were rolled down. But, that just adds to the fun of it! 2. No sleep, really - okay, so we still slept a little, but we woul...
