NASH!!

Weheheh... it's now a HAPPY post!! Finally, something that was productive and made me not freak out and break down!! Hmmm... last Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, I went with the Debate Varsity to NASH, despite the many trainings I failed to go to... I just left a long bilin with my class committee, and I will grill them tomorrow when I get back to school... I'm kidding... The whole NASH was full of... english being the primary med. in public schools... chuch and state unity... nuclearization... metamorphic TV shows... indigenous sports... junk food... media blackouts... affirmative action... PANTS... Igor and Karuche whatever the last name is... Vandolph... and "you're boring!"
Things I have learned from NASH...
1. When you go to a tourney like NASH... the maximum no. of hours you can sleep is 4 hours, no matter how early you reach the hotel... we either stayed up waiting to greet Bets, or train for the next day.
2. Never, never, EVER attempt to debate on a motion you don't know a lot about... during the 7th round... I didn't understand the words I was saying... what the heck was affirmative action?!
3. Don't try to make Giovanna cook breakfast for you... when she and Nav tried heating oatmeal... it started overflowing because the cup was way too small!! But it was worth the laughs!!
4. When they tell you to come at 8, they really mean 10. What was the whole point of waking up early?! Debaters have no sense of time whatsoever.
5. In playing PANTS in between debates... it's okay to use the weirdest stuff like "dog of Randolph"... just to get 10 points...
6. Debating against an all guys team about Feminization is unfair... because they call women "vulnerable"!! Grrrr...
7. It's really hard to think of a reply speech when you know you literally lost the debate already. But it's fun to make it when you know you won!!
8. That putting indigenous games in the SEA games is like putting a camel in the arctic circle!! (I love that reply!!)
9. If a basketball falls in the mud... don't try to run after it... you will only damage your clothes!! But if you're a guy... I don't think you would really care...
10. You will definitely lose some weight in the process... the only actual meal is DINNER.
Super F-U-N!! Heehee... luckily I didn't turn it down, and it kept the stress off Wicked, but I kept calling to check on them... now it's full blast on Wicked and the Glee Club Concert... one down... two to go... and I love the fact that everyone's in school right now, and I'm NOT!!

The checklist...

A lot is going on... A LOT. None of which are done yet, btw... so a-la-Nash-reply speech... I'll just go down a quick check list... on what the hell I'm supposed to be doing... (gaaah... I'm back to my time tabled life... I miss spontaineity) 1. WIT - actually this is done... it went well!! We got some possible new recruits... and it was actually fun to miss a lot of class to adj debates... and miss even more class tabbing... 2. Campaign - hasn't started... but being campaign manager has its perks and downfalls (such as shortened lunch). MOVE doesn't have a final line up yet... but anyway... it's currently on low priority... 3. Sendoff - gawd don't talk to me about this. I haven't started yet. I will, when I actually have the time to do so. 4. Prom - just finished up getting the last minute things... I'm going to spend the week breathing now... just those reaaaally minor details na lang... JUST GET IT OVER WITH NA! I swear, the planning and talking n...

To restage or not to restage...

The poll is up. Should the Gabay production of Songs for a New World do a restaging? Hit the comment button, and state your name, answer, and justification. This way, certain people won't vote numerous times. I cannot believe I'm even opening to that situation.

WR Debaters are sorority sisters... :)

It's been a little bit under hell over the past two days, so it's been hard to find the time to blog about IISDC. The teachers decided to give no mercy and imposed all make up tests to be taken today. Naturally, we died studying last night. But... the point is... it was well worth it. It's super hard to actually describe IISDC 2006, so here's the rundown on the highlights. 1. Mega SQUISH!! 12 people in Eagle star!! - Just when we thought that 8 people in a condo was difficult last year, we tried 12 this year. It took a lot of mattresses and fixing up every single day, lots of squishing, waiting for Gaba to turn off the lights, and sleeping on the floor. Imagine, the condo is originally for two people, and we fit six times more than that. Achievement! Well, it just involved having no space after all the bags were unloaded and after the sleeping bags were rolled down. But, that just adds to the fun of it! 2. No sleep, really - okay, so we still slept a little, but we woul...
