I'm not going to go on about a.) the philo long test, b.) the halos walang week of no classes and no electricity, or c.) the fact that we're going to idea1 this weekend with no training. Instead, I'll talk about what's been on my mind since a week back. Exactly one year ago was the "perfect Wicked run". And this year, theater season in WR has come, there's just one problem. There's a very large possibility that we're not going to do it.
It's more than just rehearsal schedules, finances (our money is going away fast!), a half hearted cast probably, a mediocre play, a clashing play with it, the pressure, the workload, intrams, my commitments to glee and debate, and the like. It kinda boiled down to this. "The point of a high school play is to make it visually appealing. What good are the best actresses with a witty script if you don't have the matching props and costumes and staging to go with it? Of course, it wouldn't matter to a true thespian. But your audience are simply going to be average reasonable people. With a production as big scaled as that, you're going to need lots of time, commitment, and sacrifice. It has to come off holistically good." It's not that we're not capable of pulling it off. But it's going to require a lot, and I don't know if we're all willing and ready to do that.
But on one hand, I've prayed so many times for this. Some of us have been wishing for what should have been a true junior legacy. And again, i'll just repeat what I always wished.
"... one more shot. Just one more to prove myself. That maybe I have some place in production or something. One last before I'll leave the theater bubble to be buried under a thousand music sheets and matter folders." ---- > sounds poetic... nah, probably it's just pathetic.
